I was thinking the same thing pre-patch, but the major thing that has changed is scripts. Now those (unbonused) mids have lost a lot of their value and you'd be left with a ship that has a comparatively poor damage output and tank for not that muc...

Uber tanked Abaddon. mids filled with shield extenders and invulns. Lows with plates, hardeners and a DCU. Trimarks. And you're good to go against all but the most persistant attacked (ie if you're really unlucky, you could still die).

I can see why they're implementing this. Capital shield tanks aren't as sustainable if they feed mainly off PDS even if they are stronger. Use cap fluxes and they're way easier to neut. Use CPRs and if you want a sensor booster or two, or sensor b...
